BeeHealthy Project Brief -
Your Final Major Project (FMP) is a comprehensive, self-initiated creative project that synthesizes everything you’ve learned during your Foundation Year. The project is designed to demonstrate your ability to develop, research, and present a business concept or marketing proposal that reflects your knowledge, skills, and creative thinking.
Key Components of the Project:
Project Proposal and Informal Presentation:
Objective: In the first phase, you’ll create a project proposal that outlines your initial business concept or marketing idea. This proposal is the foundation of your project.
Informal Presentation: You will present your proposal informally to your tutors. This is an opportunity to receive feedback and refine your ideas before moving on to the next stage.
Final Project Presentation:
Objective: The second phase involves preparing a formal presentation. This presentation should include all your research, creative outcomes, and examples that support your project.
Content: You must present comprehensive research, showcasing how your project aligns with the latest trends for 2023 and beyond, as identified by WGSN. You should also demonstrate your understanding of sustainability and ethics in business, retail, and marketing.
Supporting Work:
Research Folders and Bibliographies: These should document all the research you’ve conducted, including references and sources.
Reflective Timetable: A timeline showing your project’s development process, helping you manage your time effectively.
Sustainability and Ethics: Your project should reflect an awareness of sustainability and ethical considerations, crucial aspects in today’s business and marketing environments.
The focus of the Project:
Top Trends for 2023 & Beyond (WGSN): Your project should be inspired by and align with the key trends identified for 2023 and beyond. WGSN is a well-known trend forecasting company, and your project should reflect an understanding of these trends in your business or marketing proposal.
Creative Outcomes: These could include designs, marketing campaigns, product ideas, or business models that are innovative, relevant, and supported by research.
What This Means:
You are tasked with developing a creative business or marketing concept that demonstrates your ability to apply what you’ve learned throughout the year.
Your project should be rooted in thorough research, and you should be able to justify your creative decisions with evidence.
The final output should reflect an understanding of current trends, as well as ethical and sustainable practices.
In summary, this project is about combining your creative skills with business acumen, supported by research, to deliver a well-rounded and forward-thinking final presentation.
My Learning -
Through this Final Major Project, I gained a deep appreciation for the importance of combining creative thinking with solid business acumen. Developing my business concept from the ground up required me to draw on everything I’ve learned during the Foundation Year, from conducting thorough research to understanding current trends and their impact on the market.
I learned how to critically analyze trends, particularly those identified by WGSN for 2023 and beyond, and how to incorporate these insights into a viable business proposal. The focus on sustainability and ethics was especially eye-opening, reinforcing the need to create business solutions that are not only innovative but also responsible and forward-thinking.
Presenting my ideas both informally and formally allowed me to refine my communication skills and better articulate my creative decisions. Overall, this project helped me to synthesize my knowledge and skills into a cohesive, research-backed business concept that I am proud to present.
